Aberdeen 2004, 2014

10 years ago I spent one year in Aberdeen, a grey grey city in the north of Scotland. When I got bored (very usually in a place like that) I used to go to a little forest next to my residence to take pictures with a 2.1 megapixel Canon Powershot A20, my father's Canon AE1 and a shabby tripod. The first picture is from 2004, the second one was taken a week ago. Nothing has really changed.

2014 is already going very well. I have a show going on in Iceland, a couple of magazines wrote to me to collaborate with them and I might be taking part in a huge exhibition in Spain. So I decided it was maybe about time to have my own Facebook page. I created it back in 2011, but it was somehow a too big step. I think back then they were still called Fan pages and felt a bit absurd I guess. It still feels a bit weird and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, but like it if you like it!

Behind, the opening

The opening went quite well. Some people (known and unknown) showed up, we had white wine and Christmas beer and soda water and some low music coming from my phone. I think overall everyone liked it and it was interesting to see how they were always trying to find some kind of 'behindness' in every picture.

If you're around and/or planning to come to Iceland soon, it's going to be on until March 4th at the Reykjavík Museum of Photography.

Behind

The first week of this new year is already gone, and I spent it most of the time working on my new exhibition and trying not to fall down on the ice. I succeeded in both things, Behind is opening tomorrow at 5:00 pm and all my bones are fine. If you're in Reykjavík come and say hi!
